You know I'm not a TV person, but today I decided to switch it on.. To my very pleasant surprise, guess what was on? VOLLEYBALL match!!! Brazil vs Cuba. I love to watch vball matches! It's adrenaline-pumping given the drama and speed.. I admire the girls!! They're all pretty with substance. I like their determination.. and how they will give their all to save the ball.. That's the spirit!!

While watching, I reminisced on the competitions I had before.. Great! I never regretted taking part in those.. And, I realised something.. Most of the time, it's our psychological battle that we have to fight. This is one competition I will never forget. Bird and I were partners for table tennis doubles and we played against nanyang girls who were famous for always winning.. So we kinda took it light-heartedly and treated it like a real friendly game.. We smiled and laughed during the competition HAHA.. Bird you remember? =P Cos we were actually winning! LOL it was hilarious la.. And we watched our ex-coach's (nyghs's coach during that period) frown and we laughed. HAHA.. yea so in the end we unexpectedly won. Tyco or what I don't know la. HAHA..
But the moral of the story is: Always look on the lighter side of life!!! You'll never know how you can surprise yourself.

Another incident.. It was during sec 2 or 3.. I took part in Long Jump during Sports' Day.. What happened was, before 'launching', we had to sprint for a short distance right? Somehow, landed flat on my face and slided on the sand EWww.... And of cos people stared. HAHA.. But I didn't care la.. Comes to sports, I don't mind getting all unglam. In the end I won sth la..
Moral of the story: In the process of achieving something, it's really ok to fall flat.

Another one, I actually joined volleyball in my first yr in jc.. The training was crazy. 2 days of training 5 hours each and 2 other days of gyming.. (Maybe that's why I retained haha! Excuses..) My yr1 was totally packed with other commitments like church and piano.. So I quitted vball the next year.. And then, during the inter-school competition, JJ emerged the champion for 'A' division Girls. Of course I felt regretful for quitting.. But at that point, I was so proud of the girls..
Moral of the story: Fight on till the end!!! There's a gift for everyone.

One thing.. Never throw your bat/racket after a game.. Ouch.. They've worked hard for you! And never steal someone else's one.. It hurts! My precious t.tennis bat was stolen by some junior.. It went through a lot with me.. Even for my badminton racket, I never quite feel safe when it's in someone else's hand.. oops.. =)
